Between 1874 and 1893, he taught mathematics at the Gymnasium Grösslingová, followed by a tenure at the Toldy Ferenc Gimnázium in Budapest from 1893 to 1897. During this period, he successfully obtained his habilitation at the University of Budapest.

In 1897, Klug transitioned to higher education, receiving an appointment as a professor of geometry at the Franz Joseph University of Kolozsvár. His research interests were significantly influenced by the work of Gyula Kőnig. Throughout his time at the university, he specialized in the fields of synthetic and descriptive geometry, operating within a framework that emphasized fundamental geometric principles.
Retirement and Final Years
Klug retired from his academic position in 1917 and returned to Budapest. During his retirement, he maintained an interest in mathematics and provided encouragement to the young Edward Teller. His life concluded in 1945 under unexplained circumstances; at age 91, he left his Budapest residence and never returned. He is buried at the Kozma Street Jewish Cemetery. His disappearance is frequently associated with the climate of racial violence during World War II.
