Early Career and Naturalization
Moving to South Carolina in 1992, Huber spent her formative professional years competing primarily on the ITF Circuit. While she occasionally participated in Grand Slam singles main draws, such as the 1998 French Open and 1999 US Open, her focus shifted toward doubles. She married Tony Huber in February 2000 and officially began representing the United States in international competition in August 2007.

Huber secured 64 total women's doubles titles, including 53 on the WTA Tour. Her partnership with Cara Black remains a significant period in her career; the duo won 29 WTA titles and reached seven Grand Slam finals, claiming four of them. On 12 November 2007, Huber and Black achieved the co-world number one ranking, and by 19 April 2010, Huber reached the sole top ranking for the first time.
International and Mixed Competition
Beyond her standard circuit play, Huber recorded successes in mixed doubles, winning at the 2009 French Open and the 2010 US Open with Bob Bryan. She represented her home nations in the Fed Cup, maintaining a 9–3 record for South Africa and a 6–2 record for the United States. Her Olympic appearances included the 2008 Beijing games and the 2012 London games, where she narrowly missed a bronze medal.
Post-Tennis Career
Since retiring from professional competition, Huber transitioned into athletic leadership and facility management. She previously served as the executive director of tennis at the New York Junior Tennis & Learning Cary Leeds Center. As of 4 January 2021, she holds the position of Director of Tennis and Racquets at The River Club of New York.
