This early tenure included multiple tournament entries across the Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Dutch Open series. He eventually clinched a men's doubles title at the 2017 French Open, establishing himself as a consistent presence in BWF-sanctioned events.

In late 2018, Lee formed a new partnership with Wang Chi-lin, a former junior high school classmate. This pairing saw immediate success, capturing titles at the Spain Masters, Orléans Masters, India Open, and Korea Masters in 2019. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the duo defeated Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen to secure the first badminton gold medal for Chinese Taipei. They returned in 2024 at the Paris Olympics to defend this title, becoming the first men's doubles pair in history to accomplish back-to-back Olympic victories.
Retirement and Political Service
Following his appearance at the 2024 Taipei Open, Lee concluded his professional badminton career, with his final tournament occurring at the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals in December. He shifted his focus to academia, serving as a lecturer at the National Taiwan Sport University.
