Early Career and European Migration
After developing through the youth ranks at Boca Juniors, Paredes transitioned to European football in 2014. In January 2019, Paredes signed with Paris Saint-Germain on a deal valued at €40 million, with potential add-ons reaching €47 million. During his time in France, he collected multiple Ligue 1 titles and domestic cups. He marked his first goal for the Parisian side in January 2020 while wearing the captain's armband during a Coupe de France match against Pau. He continued to compete in Ligue 1 until a season-long loan to Juventus in 2022, followed by a permanent return to Roma in 2023.
International Milestones
Paredes made his senior international debut on 13 June 2017, scoring in a 6–0 victory against Singapore. Under manager Lionel Scaloni, he became a fixture in the Argentine midfield. He was integral to the squad that secured the 2021 Copa América, and he participated in the 2022 FIFA World Cup victory, scoring penalties in the shootouts against the Netherlands and France.
