The Biographisches Lexikon hervorragender Ärzte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts, published in 1901, represents a significant contribution to the systematic documentation of medical history. Compiled by Julius Leopold Pagel, this text serves as a cornerstone for tracking the development of nineteenth-century medical practice within the borders of the Kingdom of Prussia and across the European continent.
