Over the course of the tournament, he helped secure a bronze medal for the Dutch side. Following his active football years, Boutmy transitioned away from the sport. His life saw various geographical shifts, including a period spent in the Dutch East Indies. He later relocated to Verona, New Jersey. He passed away there on 26 July 1972 at the age of 78.
