Influenced by Elvis Presley, Hallyday released his debut single, 'T'aimer follement', in March 1960. He collaborated with high-profile musicians, including Mick Jones, Jimmy Page, and Peter Frampton. His career encompassed 79 albums and an estimated 1,154 songs. He notably performed with the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1966 and socialized with figures such as Bob Dylan and Keith Richards.

Hallyday was recognized for his theatrical live performances, including stadium entrances by helicopter and massive public concerts. His 2000 performance at the Eiffel Tower drew one million spectators. Throughout his career, he completed 3,257 shows across 187 tours.
