The firm underwent a name change to NORO in 1976 after discovering the moniker NIRO was already in use. By 1986, the organization was formally structured as BCD. This entity served as the foundation for his expansive interests in the travel sector.
Growth in the Travel Industry
The expansion strategy gained momentum in 1987 with the acquisition of WorldTravel Advisors. A series of strategic mergers followed, including the 1999 union with BTI Americas, which created WorldTravel BTI. The final transition occurred in 2006, when the firm rebranded as BCD Travel following the purchase of the German entity TQ3. This sequence of actions consolidated the company’s position in the international market.
