Following his appearance in Grumpy Old Men, he secured roles in films such as Face/Off, Mercury Rising, Gothika, and Bubble Boy. His filmography includes performances in Zodiac as Arthur Leigh Allen, Gran Torino, Shutter Island, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and The Founder, where he portrayed Mac McDonald.
