Ascension to Executive Leadership

In 2015, Quincey attained the role of president of Coca-Cola, where he implemented a strategy centered on organizing brands into five distinct category clusters while restructuring the corporate hierarchy. Following the retirement of Muhtar Kent, Quincey assumed the position of chief executive officer in May 2017. By April 2019, he further solidified his control over the organization by being elected chairman of the board.

Strategic Initiatives and Portfolio Management

Upon becoming CEO, Quincey initiated a reduction of 1,200 corporate positions to fund marketing efforts and new product innovation, targeting annual revenue growth between four and six percent. He prioritized a diversification strategy that included increased investments in startup businesses. Operational changes included the discontinuation of slower-selling products like Tab and Zico coconut water. Additionally, he set an environmental target to recycle the equivalent of every bottle sold by 2030.

Transition and Compensation

Financial reporting for 2023 showed that Quincey received total compensation of $24.7 million, a figure 1,799 times higher than the median pay for a company employee that year. In 2025, he presented President Donald Trump with a custom Diet Coke bottle to mark his inauguration. On 10 December 2025, it was declared that Quincey would step down as chief executive officer on 31 March 2026, to be succeeded by Henrique Braun, while Quincey transitions to executive chairman.
