Financial Sector and Club Foundations
Palumbo attended Eton College and Worcester College, Oxford, before entering the financial sector. Between 1984 and 1992, he held positions at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Grenfell, where his work concentrated on property finance and equity capital markets. In 1991, he partnered with Humphrey Waterhouse and Justin Berkmann to establish the Ministry of Sound. Beyond his business ventures, Palumbo authored two novels. His first book, Tomas, was released in 2009 and addressed themes of global corruption. He followed this in 2011 with Tancredi, a novel exploring political short-termism. In his private affairs, Palumbo was involved in legal action during 1994, initiating proceedings against his father, Peter Palumbo, regarding the management of the family trust alongside his sister, Annabella Adams. The result of this action was his father’s resignation as a trustee.
Political and Social Contributions
Following the 2010 election, Palumbo assisted in the operational reorganization of political headquarters. In October 2013, he was appointed a life peer, assuming the title Baron Palumbo of Southwark. Since 2017, he has operated an animal sanctuary in Thailand with Rawipim Paijit, focused on the rescue and rehabilitation of street dogs.
