A go-kart gifted by seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher launched Jack Doohan’s competitive career at age nine. Raised in the Gold Coast, Australia, the son of five-time motorcycle World Champion Mick Doohan progressed from national karting titles to the global stage of Formula One, marking a transition from karting prodigy to international racing driver.
Early Career and Formula 4
Doohan entered single-seater racing in 2018 with the F4 British Championship alongside the TRS Arden Junior Racing Team. He secured three victories, including a win at Thruxton, to finish fifth overall. That year, he also gained experience in German and Italian Formula 4 championships with Prema Powerteam. His development continued in the F3 Asian Championship, where he finished as runner-up in both 2019 and the 2019-2020 season.

The 2020 season marked Doohan’s debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with HWA Racelab, a challenging year that yielded no points. A switch to Trident in 2021 proved transformative. That year, he achieved notable success at Spa-Francorchamps, becoming the first FIA Formula 3 driver to win two races in a single weekend. He concluded the 2021 season as the championship runner-up, just behind Dennis Hauger, while securing the teams' title for Trident.
Formula 2 and Formula One Ambitions
Doohan moved to FIA Formula 2, competing with Virtuosi throughout 2022 and 2023 and finishing third in the latter campaign. As a member of the Alpine Academy, he served as a reserve driver for the team. His Formula One debut occurred at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In 2025, he joined the grid as a full-time driver for Alpine alongside Pierre Gasly, though he was later replaced mid-season by Franco Colapinto.
