Early Education and Career
Langbard began his formal training at the Hrekov Odesa Art school in 1901. He later advanced his studies at the Higher Art School at the Imperial Academy of Arts, where he attended from 1907 to 1914. His professional path allowed him to work across various regions, including Saint Petersburg, Kyiv, Minsk, Kostroma, Mahilyow, and Vorsha. By 1939, he returned to the academy environment as a professor, a role he maintained until 1950.

Langbard gained recognition for his contributions to the urban landscape of Minsk, most notably through his design for the Government House of Belarus. Beyond his work in Minsk, he extended his influence to Kyiv following its designation as the Ukrainian capital. His projects included the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Monument to Taras Shevchenko. These works demonstrated his focus on the modernist rejection of ornamentation, emphasizing the functional structure of the buildings.
Legacy and Academic Standing
Throughout his career, Langbard reached the rank of Doktor Nauk in Architecture. His professional achievements earned him the Order of the Badge of Honour and the title of Honored Artist of the Byelorussian SSR in 1934. Langbard concluded his life in Saint Petersburg, where he died in 1951. He is buried at the Serafimovskoe Cemetery.
