Early Education and Academic Training
Born on 16 August 1935 in Kiev, Simonenko began his formal technical training at the Luhansk Machine-Building Technical School in 1947. He subsequently transitioned to the Faculty of Mechanics at Rostov State University, graduating with honours in 1959. He pursued graduate studies under the supervision of Professor Fyodor Gakhov, successfully defending his candidate thesis in 1961. By the age of 32, he completed his doctoral dissertation.

Simonenko received the title of Professor in 1970. In 1972, he assumed the role of head for the Department of Algebra and Discrete Mathematics at Rostov State University, an institution where he remained a primary employer throughout his career. His academic contributions led to his recognition as an Honoured Science Worker of the Russian Federation.
Mathematical Research and Publications
His primary research focused on the application of the local principle within the study of singular integral equations. These findings appeared in various academic publications and were translated into English by the American Mathematical Society. Beyond his personal research, he served as a supervisor for the successful defense of 22 candidate dissertations and 4 doctoral dissertations.
