Hayden Panettiere initiated her professional career at eleven months old, appearing in a 1990 commercial for Playskool. By age five, she had accumulated credits in over 50 advertising spots. This early exposure led to a sustained career in film and television, marked by roles in high-profile projects ranging from animated features to long-running network dramas.

Early Television and Film

Born in Palisades in 1989, Panettiere transitioned quickly from commercials to scripted television. She played Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live between 1994 and 1997, followed by a multi-year tenure as Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light. Her film career began at age eight with a minor role in The Object of My Affection, shortly followed by her voice performance as Princess Dot in the 1998 animated film A Bug's Life. This role earned her a Grammy nomination for a spoken word album.

Breakthrough Roles

Throughout the 2000s, Panettiere balanced live-action television with major studio films. Her credits included the biographical sports drama Remember the Titans, the legal drama Ally McBeal, and the comedy film Racing Stripes. She gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Claire Bennet in the science fiction series Heroes, which aired from 2006 to 2010. Her performance in this series secured her a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress on Television in 2007.

Music and Voice Acting

Beyond her screen presence, Panettiere contributed extensively to voice acting and soundtrack recordings. She voiced characters in the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise from 2002 to 2017 and provided the voice for Samantha Giddings in the 2015 horror title Until Dawn. Her musical output included recording soundtracks for films such as Tiger Cruise, Ice Princess, and The Dust Factory, alongside her professional acting work.

Later Career and Legacy

Panettiere continued her career with a role as Juliette Barnes in the musical drama Nashville, spanning 2012 to 2018. She also appeared in the slasher franchise Scream, reprising her role as Kirby Reed in 2011 and 2023. She received schooling at Tappan Zee High School and Laurel Springs School. Panettiere passed away in Greenville on August 16, 2026, due to cardiac arrest.
