Olympic and World Championship Success
Trillini secured her first Olympic gold in the individual foil event in 1992. She added team gold medals in 1992, 1996, and 2000. Her Olympic collection also features a silver medal from 2004 and two bronze medals from 1996 and 2000. At the World Championships, she claimed individual gold titles in 1991 and 1997, alongside multiple team golds between 1990 and 2004. Her performance at the 2006 World Fencing Championships resulted in an individual bronze and a team silver medal, supported by teammates Elisa Di Francisca, Margherita Granbassi, and Valentina Vezzali.

Born in 1970, Trillini grew up with brothers Ezio and Roberto, both of whom were fencers. In 2001, she completed a degree in Sport Science at the University of Urbino. She married Giovanni Battista Rotella in 1998. The couple has two children: Claudia, born on 12 September 2005, and Giovanni, born on 1 August 2009.
Professional Recognition
The Italian state acknowledged her sporting contributions with two specific honours. She was named a Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2000. On 1 September 2008, she received the title of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
International Competition Record
Beyond the Olympics and World Championships, Trillini competed in the European Championships and Mediterranean Games.
