Born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, in 1947, Bellini attended the Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Enrico Fermi before relocating to Canada in 1967. He pursued higher education at Loyola College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972. He continued his studies in the Maritimes, completing a Doctor of Philosophy in organic chemistry at the University of New Brunswick in 1977. Business and Sporting Leadership

Beyond his work in science, Bellini participated in the commercial and athletic spheres of his home country. On 3 February 2014, he took the initiative to refound the football club Ascoli Picchio F.C. 1898. Three days later, the newly formed organization secured the rights of the bankrupt historical team, Ascoli Calcio 1898. Bellini served as the president of the club, maintaining a connection to his birthplace through professional sport management.

Philanthropic Contributions

Bellini dedicated a portion of his resources to social and educational causes, specifically within the fields of life sciences and healthcare. He provided a donation of $10 million to support the construction of a new life sciences facility at McGill University. Additionally, he contributed to the development of a residence and center located in Laval intended for individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Professional Recognition

Throughout his career, Bellini received numerous honors for his contributions to the economy, research, and entrepreneurship. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999, an Officer of the National Order of Quebec in 2004, and a Commander of the Order of Montreal in 2016. The Italian government awarded him the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro, reflecting his professional achievements in the global business landscape.
