Early Development and Atlético Madrid
Born in Fuenlabrada in 1984, Torres progressed through the Atlético Madrid youth system after joining in 1995. Following his professional debut in May 2001 against Leganés, he established himself as a central figure, later serving as the team's captain at age 19. During his initial tenure with the club, he recorded 75 goals across 174 La Liga appearances before departing for England in 2007.

Torres transferred to Liverpool in July 2007, quickly becoming the fastest player in the club's history to reach 50 league goals. In January 2011, he moved to Chelsea for a record £50 million fee. His time at Chelsea yielded three major titles: the FA Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Europa League. He subsequently experienced a brief period at AC Milan and a return to Atlético Madrid, where he secured the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League title.
International Performance
Making his debut for Spain in 2003, Torres earned 110 caps and scored 38 goals. He participated in six major international tournaments, including three consecutive victories: UEFA Euro 2008, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2012. He netted goals in the finals of both the 2008 and 2012 European championships and received the Golden Boot for the 2012 tournament.
Post-Playing Career
