Eva Roma Maria Drummond, known professionally by her maiden name de Goede, concluded an international field hockey career featuring 266 appearances for the Netherlands. Her tenure on the national squad solidified her status as one of the most decorated athletes in Dutch history, marked by three gold medals and one silver medal across four Summer Olympic cycles.
Olympic and International Success
Born in 1989 in Zeist, the midfielder established herself as a cornerstone of the Dutch national team early in her career. Her international record includes a victory at the 2007 Champions Trophy. She secured Olympic gold medals in 2008, 2012, and 2020. Her collection of honors also includes a silver medal from the 2016 Summer Olympics. These achievements contributed to her holding the second-highest number of international caps for her country.

Domestically, she spent over a decade with the club AH&BC, playing there from 2010 until 2021 before transferring to HGC. Her technical proficiency in the midfield earned significant recognition from the International Hockey Federation. She received the FIH Player of the Year award in 2018 and secured the same title again in February 2020. In 2021, the Dutch government appointed her an Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Transition and Retirement
Her international career reached its conclusion following the decision not to select her for the national team for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Educated at the Catholic Comprehensive School, Breul, she transitioned to the next phase of her personal and professional life following her 2022 marriage to South African field hockey player Tim Drummond.
