Academic Formation
Neuman completed his doctoral studies at the University of Wrocław in 1972. His dissertation, titled Projections in Uniform Polynomial Approximation, was completed under the guidance of Stefan Paszkowski. Following his graduation, he occupied various research roles at the University of Wrocław's Institute of Mathematics and Institute of Computer Sciences, as well as the Institute of Applied Mathematics in Bonn, Germany.

In 1986, Neuman secured a permanent faculty position at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Throughout his tenure, he integrated his research in computational mathematics with practical software development. In 2001, the College of Science recognized his contributions to education by naming him an Outstanding Teacher.
