Gathegi gained early recognition in 2007 for his portrayal of Dr. Jeffrey Cole on the television medical drama House. This was followed by film appearances as Cheese in Gone Baby Gone and Laurent in the cinematic adaptations of Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Throughout 2008, he accepted guest roles in CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Life on Mars. His filmography continued to expand with projects such as Death Sentence, The Fifth Patient, and the 2011 adaptation of Atlas Shrugged as the character Eddie Willers.
Expanding Creative Scope
In later years, Gathegi secured recurring roles in several prominent series, including as Matias Solomon in The Blacklist and its spin-off, The Blacklist: Redemption. He portrayed Baron Jacobee in Into the Badlands and Ronald Dacey in the drama StartUp. By 2022, he joined the cast of the Apple TV+ production For All Mankind as Dev Ayesa.
