Early Career and Move to England
Graham Taylor discovered Yorke in 1989 while touring the West Indies. After an impressive trial, Yorke secured a permanent contract with Aston Villa. He made his First Division debut against Crystal Palace on 24 March 1990. Initially utilized as a right winger, he transitioned to centre forward during the 1995–96 season. He recorded 97 goals in 284 appearances for the club before his transfer to Manchester United for £12.6 million in August 1998.

Yorke joined Manchester United in 1998 and immediately became instrumental in the club's historic treble, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League in 1999. His partnership with Andy Cole yielded significant attacking output. He was named Premier League Player of the Season during this period. Over four seasons, he scored 65 goals in 152 appearances before leaving in 2002.
Later Playing Years
Following his departure from Manchester United, Yorke joined Blackburn Rovers for a fee between £2 million and £2.6 million. He later had a brief spell at Birmingham City before moving to Australia to join Sydney FC. As a marquee player, he captained the team and secured the inaugural A-League Grand Final victory in 2006, earning the Joe Marston Medal. He retired from professional playing in 2009.
