Deborah Ann Ryan began her professional acting career on stage at age seven while living on an American military base in Germany. Following a return to the United States and a period of homeschooling in Texas, she emerged through Disney Channel talent searches to become a fixture of television programming and indie music throughout the late 2000s and 2010s.
Early Television and Disney Tenure
After early appearances in commercials for iDog and various board games, Ryan debuted on Barney & Friends in 2006. Her breakout role arrived in 2008 as Bailey Pickett on The Suite Life on Deck, which became the highest-rated scripted series for teens that year. She subsequently anchored the series Jessie, for which she also served as a director for the episode Coffee Talk. Her film work during this era included 16 Wishes and Radio Rebel, both of which aired on the Disney Channel.

Ryan integrated music into her acting projects by contributing to various soundtracks. In 2011, she founded the label Ryan River Studio alongside her brother, Chase Ryan, to release her debut single, We Ended Right. She later established the indie rock group The Never Ending with guitarist Kyle Moore and drummer Johnny Franco. The trio released the EP One in 2014 and toured as an opening act for Fifth Harmony during their Reflection Tour. She performs using the piano, guitar, and keyboard.
Adult Acting Career
Transitioning beyond her origins as a child actor, Ryan pursued more mature roles in television and film. She appeared in the police series The Mysteries of Laura and the drama series Insatiable. Her filmography includes roles in The Opening Act, the thriller Night Teeth, and the comedy Spin Me Round. She also appeared in the feature film What If... and performed voice acting work for the animated film Secret of the Wings.
