Early Career and Education
Born in 1965 in Vilnius, Mockus pursued his formal education at Vilnius University, graduating from the Faculty of Economics in 1988. His initial foray into private enterprise began in the late 1980s when he managed a cooperative known as Litas. During the 1990s, he built professional experience through the administration and management of various business units. He was also a founding member of the Lithuanian Free Market Institute.

Mockus assumed multiple leadership roles as his career progressed. In 1990, he served as the executive director of the National Commodity Exchange, AB Lietuvos birža. By 1991, he transitioned to the presidency of Lietuvos investicija, a position he held until 1992. Since 1992, he has acted as the chairman of the board for the investment stock company Investicijos fondas. His tenure at JSC Minvista began in 1996, eventually leading to his role as director of MG Baltic in 2000, which he has led as president since 2002.
Philanthropy and Associations
Beyond his corporate engagements, Mockus maintains active involvement in community and professional organizations. Since 2003, he has provided scholarships to high-performing students within the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Vilnius University. He serves as an honorary president of the Lithuanian Tennis Union and maintains membership in the Vilnius Tennis Club. His personal interests include reading, history, travel, and various sports such as basketball, skiing, and snowboarding.
