Ciro Ciliberto

Italian mathematician

Mathematics at the University of Naples Federico II served as the starting point for Ciro Ciliberto, who completed his studies there in 1973. Born in 1950 in Naples, he developed an academic career focused on algebraic geometry and algebraic surfaces, eventually holding positions across several Italian institutions and contributing to national scientific administration and European mathematical oversight.

Academic Appointments

Ciliberto began his teaching career as an assistant professor at the University of Naples Federico II, serving from 1974 until 1980. He held professorships in mathematics and algebraic geometry at the same institution during the late 1970s. In 1980, he moved to the University of Lecce as an extraordinary professor of higher mathematics. By 1981, he returned to the University of Naples Federico II, where he worked as an extraordinary and later a full professor of algebraic geometry until 1985.
