Fabian Bohn, known professionally as Brennan Heart, occupies a central position in the Dutch hardstyle electronic music scene. Born in 1982 in Helden, the Netherlands, Bohn has sustained a career as a disc jockey, musician, and record producer for over two decades. His transition from collaborative projects to independent label management defines his enduring influence within the genre.
Foundations and Early Collaboration
Bohn began his career by experimenting with various electronic subgenres, including techno, hard trance, and tech trance. In 2002, he formed a partnership with Pieter Heijnen, known professionally as DJ Thera. Together they operated under the name Brennan & Heart, focusing their efforts specifically on hardstyle production. This collaborative phase lasted for more than three years before the two decided to dissolve the partnership and pursue individual paths, with Bohn retaining the Brennan Heart moniker.

Following the split, Bohn accelerated his output within the hardstyle scene. In 2006, he joined the Dutch label Scantraxx Records, founded by The Prophet, where he established the sublabel M!D!FY. By 2012, Bohn departed from Scantraxx to launch his own imprint, Brennan Heart Music, which he later rebranded as WE R Music. This venture expanded into additional labels, specifically WE R Raw and WE R Tomorrow. Artists such as Code Black, Toneshifterz, and Outbreak joined the WE R Music roster in 2013. Bohn further evolved his operations by founding the I Am Hardstyle brand, which now incorporates his record label and the I Am Hardstyle Amplify platform aimed at recruiting emerging talent.
Recording Career and Discography
Bohn released his debut solo album, Musical Impressions, in 2009. His 2014 follow-up, Evolution of Style, achieved significant commercial success with tracks such as Imaginary, featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn, and Lose My Mind, a collaboration with Wildstylez. During the global pandemic, he produced the album Brennan Heart & Friends, featuring collaborations with artists including Armin van Buuren and Kayzo. To mark his twentieth year in the music business, he released a four-disc compilation titled Brennan Heart 20 Yrs.
Radio Presence
Beyond production, Bohn maintained a consistent radio presence through a program hosted on the Dutch station SLAM!FM. Originally titled WE R Hardstyle, the show featured monthly segments from various contributors, with Bohn presenting on the second Thursday of each month, MC Villain on the first, D-Block & S-te-Fan on the third, and Digital Punk on the fourth. This broadcast eventually transitioned into I AM HARDSTYLE Radio, now produced from a dedicated studio and incorporating monthly guest mixes.
