Castillo began volleyball training at age ten under coach Valentín Arias Pérez at the Siglo XXI club. Her early professional experience included playing for San Cristóbal, where she became a league runner-up in 2008. She demonstrated versatility by winning a beach volleyball gold medal at the 2009 Holy Week Sport Festival. Her career is marked by multiple top-tier recognitions, including Best Libero, Best Digger, and Best Receiver awards at the 2009 U20 World Championship, the 2010 Pan-American Cup, and the 2010 Final Four Cup.
Professional Club Tenure
Beyond national team duty, Castillo pursued professional opportunities abroad. She captured the 2011 Puerto Rican League title with Criollas de Caguas. Moving to the Azerbaijan Super League, she played for Rabita Baku, securing league championships during the 2012–13, 2013–14, and 2014–15 seasons. Her tenure with Rabita Baku also included a silver medal in the 2012–13 CEV Champions League and a bronze medal the following year.
Personal Life and Transitions
Castillo married Julio Enrique de los Santos in 2015. Outside of her athletic pursuits, she served as the Dominican Republic flag bearer at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
