Studying under professor Jože Plečnik at the Czech Technical University in Prague established the foundation for the career of Bedřich Feuerstein. This architect, painter, and essayist from Dobrovice moved between European and international spheres to shape his modernist approach. His professional output spanned architecture, stage design, illustration, and non-fiction writing across Cisleithania and Czechoslovakia before his death in 1936.
International Training and Influence
Feuerstein absorbed diverse architectural philosophies throughout his career. His work integrated the structural clarity of purism with the design principles of Frank Lloyd Wright. This global outlook was furthered during his time abroad, most notably in Paris from 1924 to 1926, where he collaborated with Auguste Perret. Between 1929 and 1931, he relocated to Tokyo to work alongside Antonín Raymond.
