Recognition followed: Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945", Order of the Red Star, Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class and Medal "For the Capture of Königsberg".
That the work was built in Russian Empire shaped it: climate, materials, planning law and who holds the budget all decide what can actually be built.
Baghdasar Arzoumanian died in 2001, aged 85. The buildings remain, still in use by people who never knew the name - which is the particular afterlife architecture offers.
