The international career of Austin Amamchukwu Ejide began on 16 June 2001 during a match against Namibia. This goalkeeper, born in Onitsha on 8 April 1984, maintained a long career across professional clubs in Nigeria, Tunisia, France, and Israel, while representing the Super Eagles in multiple continental and global tournaments.

Early Career and Tunisian Stints

Ejide started his professional journey with Gabros International, where he played from 1999 until 2002. His performance led to a move to Étoile du Sahel in Tunisia. During his tenure with the Tunisian club between 2003 and 2006, he gained continental experience by reaching two CAF Champions League finals.

European and Israeli Club Tenures

In 2006, Ejide moved to Corsica to compete in Ligue 2 with Bastia, where he made 44 appearances over three years. Following his time in France, he joined Hapoel Petah Tikva in 2009, recording 57 appearances and assisting the team in avoiding relegation. He later signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva in 2012, appearing 94 times before his departure in May 2015. He subsequently joined Hapoel Hadera, where he maintained 15 clean sheets during the 2017–18 season.

International Representation

Ejide earned selection for the Nigerian national team across five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, specifically in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2013, securing the title in 2013. During the 2008 tournament in Ghana, coach Berti Vogts appointed him as the primary goalkeeper for all four of Nigeria's matches. His international resume also includes participation in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and selection for national squads in 2002, 2010, and 2014.
