Background and Education
Born in 1966 in the Phra Nakhon District of Bangkok, Anutin is a citizen of Thailand of Chinese descent. He attended Assumption College before moving to the United States for higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Hofstra University in 1989. Following his return to Thailand, he pursued further studies and professional development, eventually attending the National Defence College of Thailand to broaden his administrative expertise.

He rose through the executive ranks of Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction, a firm central to Thailand’s infrastructure development. His early professional life in Bangkok provided the technical background that preceded his entry into government service, where he balanced commercial interests with his emerging responsibilities in the public sector.
Cabinet Service and Party Leadership
Anutin entered government roles in 2004, serving as Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy Minister of Public Health. After a five-year political ban imposed in 2006, he returned to public life and became the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party in 2012. He later served as Minister of Public Health from 2019 to 2023, followed by a tenure as the Minister of Interior of Thailand from 2023 to 2025.
The 2025 Premiership
As Deputy Prime Minister from 2019 until his elevation in 2025, Anutin managed significant ministerial portfolios before becoming the 32nd Prime Minister. His appointment on 5 September 2025 received official endorsement from King Vajiralongkorn on 7 September. Facing the complexities of national governance, he oversaw the dissolution of the House of Representatives in December 2025, moving the country into a transitional electoral period.
