She made her acting debut in 2005 with Puri Jagannadh’s Super, where she worked alongside Nagarjuna and Ayesha Takia. The name Anushka was chosen by the director and producer during production as an alternative to her birth name. Throughout the mid-2000s, she appeared in numerous projects, including the 2006 S. S. Rajamouli film Vikramarkudu. Further box office successes during this period included Lakshyam in 2007, and the 2008 films Souryam and Chintakayala Ravi.
