Early Career and Theatrical Beginnings
Raised in Casablanca and Strasbourg, David moved to Arles during her middle school years. Her formal entry into the professional music industry occurred at age 18 in Paris, where she engaged with musical theatre. In 1972, she secured the role of Mary Magdalene in the French production of Jesus Christ Superstar. That same year, she attempted to enter the Eurovision arena with the song Un peu romantique, which successfully reached the final shortlist of ten tracks for the French selection.

In 1973, David represented Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the entry Tu te reconnaîtras. The contest resulted in a competitive finish against the Spanish entry Eres tú and the United Kingdom's Power to All Our Friends, with David securing the first prize for the Grand Duchy. Following this victory, she toured globally and resided in Turkey, where she recorded one album and two singles. In 1979, she returned to the Eurovision stage in Jerusalem, this time representing France with the track Je suis l'enfant soleil, which earned her a third-place finish behind the Israeli entry Hallelujah.
Later Projects and Artistic Ventures
David’s career evolved through the 1980s, including a period working in Norway between 1982 and 1983. After a hiatus starting in 1987, she resumed her career in 2003. She appeared at the 50th anniversary Eurovision festival in Copenhagen in 2005 and released a revamped version of her 1973 winning song in 2011. By 2015, she collaborated with Mave O'Rick on the single International. In 2017, she initiated a project with composer Jean Musy to create an Oratorio focused on King Edmund, with performances staged in Boulogne-sur-mer and Amboise, and further development for an English-language production planned for 2024 at St Mary's Church.
