Amy Pascal

American film producer and business executive (born 1958)

Amy Pascal began her career in the film industry as a secretary for producer Tony Garnett at Kestrel Films before ascending to leadership roles within major studios. Born in 1958 in Los Angeles, she navigated decades of high-stakes corporate transitions, becoming a pivotal figure in the production and distribution landscape of American cinema throughout the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.

Early Career and Columbia Pictures

After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1981, Pascal served as Vice President of Production at 20th Century Studios between 1986 and 1987. She joined Columbia Pictures in 1988, contributing to the development of films such as A League of Their Own, Groundhog Day, Awakenings, and Little Women. Following a tenure at Turner Pictures from 1994 to 1996, she returned to Columbia as studio president and eventually became chair in 1999.

Leadership at Sony Pictures Entertainment

In 2006, Pascal was appointed Co-Chairperson of Sony Pictures Entertainment, having led the Motion Picture Group since 2003. She oversaw wide-ranging operations, including television production, digital content, and global film distribution. Her portfolio during this period included the James Bond franchise, starting with Casino Royale, alongside hits such as The Da Vinci Code and various Sony Pictures Animation projects. She remained in these roles until 2015.

Pascal Pictures and Production Ventures

Following her departure from Sony, she established Pascal Pictures, debuting with the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot. Her subsequent production credits include Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Post, and Little Women, the latter two earning Best Picture Academy Award nominations. In 2025, it was announced she would oversee the James Bond franchise moving forward, producing future installments through her banner in collaboration with Heyday Films.
