Brazilian footballer (born 1991)

Alex Sandro Lobo Silva began his professional football career in 2008 with Atletico Paranaense, later rising to prominence as a left-back for Juventus. Born on 26 January 1991 in Catanduva, Brazil, he transitioned through clubs in Portugal and Italy, securing multiple domestic titles while representing the Brazilian national team in various international competitions including the Copa América.

Early Career and Domestic Development

The defender started within the Atletico Paranaense youth system before debuting for the senior side in October 2008 against Internacional. During 2009, he contributed to the club's Campeonato Paranaense campaign, scoring his first professional goal against Rio Branco on 25 January. By 2010, he joined Santos on a two-year loan agreement, facilitating his continued professional development in the Brazilian top flight before moving to Europe.

European Tenure with Porto and Juventus

In 2011, Porto secured his registration for 9.6 million euros. He spent four seasons in Portugal before joining Juventus in 2015 on a five-year contract valued at 26 million euros. His tenure in Turin spanned nine years, during which he became a consistent presence, eventually accumulating 327 appearances. His final performance for the Italian club occurred on 25 May 2024 against Monza, where he scored a header in a 2-0 victory.

International Competition

His early international success included winning the South American Youth Championship and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2011 with the under-20 squad. He participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London and was a member of the winning 2019 Copa América squad. He later returned to the domestic league to play for Flamengo.
