Upon joining Juventus, Del Piero moved between the youth Primavera squad and the senior team under Giovanni Trapattoni. He debuted in Serie A on 12 September 1993 against Foggia. Under manager Marcello Lippi, his prominence grew during the 1994–95 season after teammate Roberto Baggio suffered an injury. Del Piero helped the team secure a scudetto and the Coppa Italia. His performance levels earned him the nickname Pinturicchio, a reference to the Renaissance painter, reflecting his creative tactical style.
European Dominance and Loyalty
Del Piero was central to Juventus’s European campaigns, appearing in three consecutive UEFA Champions League finals from 1996 to 1998, winning the title in 1996.
