Early Development and Mis-Teeq
Born on 7 October 1978 in Welwyn Garden City, Dixon attended Monk's Walk School. Her initial career path shifted from plans to study at Loughborough University toward the entertainment industry after talent scouts approached her in London. In 1999, she co-founded Mis-Teeq alongside Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash. The trio achieved significant commercial success with records like Lickin' On Both Sides and Eye Candy, selling over 12 million units globally before separating in 2005.

Dixon signed with Polydor Records for her debut solo project, Fired Up, released in 2006. Following the performance of singles such as Lipstick and Knockdown, she departed from Polydor and moved to Asylum Records. Her 2008 album, The Alesha Show, attained platinum status from the British Phonographic Industry. It featured the successful tracks The Boy Does Nothing and Breathe Slow, the latter securing a Brit Award nomination. She subsequently released The Entertainer in 2010 and Do It for Love in 2015.
Television and Public Life
Dixon gained television success by winning the fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2007, later joining the judging panel from 2009 to 2012. Since 2012, she has served as a judge on Britain's Got Talent. Her presenting portfolio includes the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, The Greatest Dancer, and Dance Dance Dance.
