Early Career and Telecommunications
Bin Byat spent fifteen years at Etisalat, concluding his tenure there in 1999 as a deputy regional manager. This foundational period involved contributing to the expansion of telecommunications services across the nation. During the late 1990s, he also participated on the board of the satellite communications firm Thuraya.
Governmental Roles in Dubai
Throughout the 2000s, Bin Byat held several high-level government appointments. He served as the secretary-general of the Dubai Executive Council from 2006 to 2009 and chaired the Dubai Education Council from 2005 to 2006. His administrative responsibilities extended to the UAE Supreme Committee for Telecommunications, the Dubai Supreme Fiscal Committee, and the Dubai Urban Planning Committee.

As the founding chairman of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, known as du, Bin Byat oversaw the launch of commercial telecommunications services in 2007, serving in that capacity until 2018. Simultaneously, he acted as executive chairman of TECOM Investments between 2007 and 2012, a period marked by the growth of its technology and media-focused business communities.

Appointed chief executive officer of Dubai Holding in 2009, Bin Byat managed the group's corporate restructuring and strategic development. The entity, which maintains interests in hospitality, real estate, and technology, underwent significant operational shifts during his tenure. He also occupied roles such as director general of the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority and chairman of the Dubai Real Estate Corporation.
