Early Development and Formation
Born in 1970 to a Swedish father with Romanian roots, Erlandsson started playing music at a young age, often practicing covers of classic rock songs alongside friends. His early influences included bands such as Dokken, Thin Lizzy, and The Exploited. By the late 1980s, he pursued his interest in thrash metal, notably forming the group Penance. In 1990, Erlandsson joined At the Gates, providing percussion for the group until their initial dissolution. Following the band's break-up in 1996, he co-founded The Haunted with Patrik Jensen. He remained with The Haunted until 1999, eventually returning to the group in 2013 following a call from Jensen. Outside of these primary commitments, he was a founding member of the short-lived supergroup Terror in 1994, which released a single demo.
International Collaboration and Genre Work
Erlandsson expanded his reach in 1999 when he joined the British band Cradle of Filth, contributing to the album Thornography. His tenure with the group lasted until 2006, when he opted to focus on other projects. Subsequently, he held membership in Paradise Lost from 2009 until his departure in 2016, and contributed to Vallenfyre starting in 2010. His diverse portfolio also includes associations with Netherbird, Nifelheim, and his own project Nemhain, which he formed with his wife in 2006.
