The broadcaster released the full 2023 vote table on its official site on 4 June. Behind Venn's 22.5 per cent came Lillianna Clifton on 13.1, Cillian O'Connor on 11.8, Malakai Bayoh on 11.3, Musa Motha on 10.9 and the Ghetto Kids on 10.1. The singer Amy Lou took 5.8 per cent and the opera singer Travis George 4.4, just ahead of Lynes on 4.2.
Published percentages are unusual in entertainment television and they are the reason the figures on this page are exact. They also show how compressed the lower half of the final was: fewer than two points separated seventh place from ninth.
Musical theatre on a talent show
Musical theatre is one of the few disciplines a child can present on a variety stage without the act being a novelty. The songs are written for adult voices and adult stories, and a young performer is judged against the original rather than graded for age. That is a harsh comparison to invite at eleven.
