The award
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is conferred by the Indian state on children for achievement across categories including innovation, scholarship, art, bravery and social service. SheThePeople's report of 25 January 2022, by Serchen Chokyi, records that Avi received it together with a certificate and prize money of one lakh rupees.
The date matters to the story's reach: the award is announced around Republic Day, when national attention is already pointed at ceremonies, and recipients are usually named in a single cycle of coverage. Avi's came in the 2022 cycle.
The Balmukhi Ramayana
The book was written during India's first lockdown in 2020, when Avi was about eleven. His stated reason, as the article carries it, was that young people were "forgetting their roots and about the character of Lord Rama". His parents supported both the writing and his reading of the scriptures.
The article places the interest much earlier. From the age of two he was reciting shlokas and mantras; by two and a half, it reports, he could recall two to three hundred poems in Hindi and English and identify colours, banks and cash machines. Those are claims made by the family to a reporter rather than tested figures, and they are reported here as such.
MADHAV, the voice-command app
The second strand is software. Avi built a program he called MADHAV, expanded in the article as My Advance Domestic Handling AI Version. It operates a computer and connected devices by voice command and translates spoken language. He is reported to have written it in about two weeks.
The purpose he gave was specific rather than general: he had noticed the difficulty that elderly and disabled users have with conventional computer input. The article does not say whether the program was published, distributed or used outside his own machine, and no technical description, repository or download is cited.
Teaching, and what came with the title
Through 2021 he taught Vedic mathematics and coding online without charge, and he spoke at schools and colleges. The article describes a house filled with awards and medals, and gives him the local title of Wonder Boy of Madhya Pradesh.
That combination of output and publicity is the shape of the record: a book, a program, free classes and a national award, all documented in one profile written in the same week as the honour.
What is documented — and what is not
Firm: the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar with its certificate and one lakh rupees, the Balmukhi Ramayana written in the 2020 lockdown, the MADHAV program and its stated purpose, the free Vedic mathematics and coding classes of 2021, his home city of Indore and his mother's name, Vinita Sharma.
Not documented: his father's name, his school, a publisher or ISBN for the book, any independent assessment of the app, and anything after January 2022. The award itself is the strongest element here, because it was conferred by a government rather than asserted by an outlet, and the rest of the profile depends on a single interview.
