Dastan Satpayev is a Kazakhstani forward, born in 2008. He came through the academy at FC Kairat, the Almaty club that has become the country's main route into European football, and was handed his first-team debut in May 2024 at the age of 15.
Over the next two seasons he made 58 first-team appearances for Kairat and scored 26 goals — a strike rate rare for a teenager in a senior league. The club's European campaign gave him a wider stage: he became one of the youngest scorers in UEFA Champions League history and the first Kazakh player to score in the competition.
His international records came in quick succession. He was called up to the senior national team in March 2025, becoming Kazakhstan's youngest-ever debutant at 16 years, seven months and ten days. In November 2025 he scored his first international goal in a 1-1 draw with Belgium, becoming at 17 years, three months and three days the youngest player ever to score for his country.
Chelsea took him on their summer tour of Australia and Asia in 2026, where he featured in four matches and scored against Western Sydney Wanderers. The club confirmed the transfer from Kairat on 14 August 2026, on a deal running to 2033.
He spends the 2026/27 season on loan at Burnley in the English Championship, having won eight caps for Kazakhstan by the time the move was announced.

Dastan Satpayev matters because he is what a football pipeline looks like when it works in a country without one. Kazakhstan had never had a Champions League scorer; he became one before he could vote. Holding both the youngest-debutant and youngest-scorer records for a national team, and converting them into a contract at a Premier League club that runs to 2033, is a rarer trajectory than any single age record.
