What happened

The record was achieved on 7 January 2024. The title, as the coverage gives it, is the youngest published writer in the world, female. She was three years old.

The two books are The Flower and Honeybee, and both stories convey the importance of environmental principles. More than a thousand copies of them sold within 24 hours, which clears the sales threshold Guinness applies to its author categories comfortably and quickly.

What her mother said

The only voice in the coverage is her mother's, and the explanation offered is about reading rather than writing. “AlMaha is proof of the power of developing skills through reading at a very young age,” she said. “Her talent and her confidence made us push her to attempt the Guinness World Record.”

That is an unusually direct account of how a record like this comes about: the child produced the material, and the adults decided to enter it. Her parents are not named in the article used here.

A family of record holders

The AlMheiri children hold three Guinness titles between them, and the coverage treats AlMaha as the latest entry in a family pattern rather than an isolated case. Her older sister AlDhabi is recorded as the youngest person to publish a bilingual book, at seven years and 360 days. Her brother holds the record for the youngest male to publish a book, at four.

Three record-holding siblings in one household is itself close to a record, and it raises the obvious question of method, which none of the sources used here answers. What the mother's statement offers instead is a single emphasis: reading, begun very early.

What is documented, and what is not

Firm: her full name; her age, three; the Guinness recognition on 7 January 2024 as the youngest published writer in the world, female; the two books, The Flower and Honeybee, and their environmental theme; sales of more than 1,000 copies within 24 hours; her two record-holding siblings and their titles; and her mother's statement.

Not documented: her exact date of birth, so the birth year here is derived from her reported age in January 2024; her parents' names; how the books were produced and by whom they were illustrated or transcribed; and anything at all about her since. She is a very small child, and the record here is limited to what her family chose to publish and what Guinness confirmed. Nothing further belongs on this page.

What a record at three can and cannot mean

Guinness's author categories are defined by publication and sales, not by composition, and the organisation's conditions concern evidence that the work is the child's own. At three, the physical act of writing is beyond most children, so any such record necessarily involves adults transcribing and producing the book. The sources used here do not describe how that was handled in this case.

What the record does document is that a three-year-old produced the content of two short books about the environment, that they were published, and that a thousand people bought them in a day. That is an unusual thing for a household to achieve, and the AlMheiri family has now achieved it three times. Whether the titles say more about the children or about the machinery around them is a question the coverage does not ask.
