The semi-final she won outright
Britain's Got Talent series 18 ran in the spring of 2025 with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on the panel, joined by the guest judge KSI. Binita Chetry appeared in the fifth semi-final and topped the public vote with 25.9 per cent, which sent her straight to the final.
That route matters. A Golden Buzzer act is chosen by a judge; a semi-final winner is chosen by the country. Chetry advanced without a buzzer, on votes cast by viewers who had watched her once. At eight, in a competition that runs from toddlers to pensioners, she beat every other act on her night.
The 2025 final
ITV published the full vote percentages after the final of 31 May 2025. Harry Moulding, a 24-year-old magician, won with 21.7 per cent. The Blackouts, an electronic dance group, were second on 15.1 per cent. Binita Chetry finished third with 13.2 per cent, ahead of the 11-year-old guitarist Olly Pearson on 10.4 per cent and eight further acts.
Eleven acts contested the final. Third place in that company, against professional adult performers, is the documented result, and the vote share is the show's own published figure rather than an estimate.
Why the result travelled to India
A child from Assam placing third on a British prime-time entertainment show is the kind of result that generates far more search traffic in India than in Britain. The research record behind this page notes exactly that, and also notes an important limitation: Indian news coverage of her was not reachable when the record was compiled.
That gap is stated rather than filled. What her dance consisted of, who trained her, where in Assam she is from, how she came to audition in Britain and what her family said about it are all questions this page cannot answer from the two sources it has. Anything circulating online on those points is not corroborated here.
How Britain's Got Talent decides
The format is a public vote layered on a judges' filter. Auditions are cut by the panel; the surviving acts are distributed across semi-finals, where the public vote decides who goes through, usually with the judges choosing between the second and third placed acts. The final is decided by the public alone, and ITV publishes the percentages afterwards.
That published table is why the figures on this page are precise. Chetry's 25.9 per cent in the semi-final and 13.2 per cent in the final are not press estimates; they are the broadcaster's own numbers, released on its official site on 31 May 2025.

Fai il test del QI →What is documented and what is not
Documented by ITV's official vote release and the series results table: her age of 8, her billing as a dancer, her win in semi-final 5 with 25.9 per cent, her third place in the final with 13.2 per cent, the winner Harry Moulding and the full order of the final.
Not documented in these sources: her date of birth, her home town within Assam, her family, her training, the routine she performed, whether she has a Wikipedia entry of her own, and anything about her since the 2025 final. Her Indian origin comes from the research record. No Golden Buzzer was involved; any account that says otherwise conflicts with the results table used here.
