Two records on one climb

The climb produced two separate entries in the record books: youngest female to summit Everest via the South Side, the Nepalese route from base camp through the Khumbu Icefall, and the first father-and-daughter pair to reach the top together.

Guinness World Records told the story twice, in a 2017 piece on a Nepalese father and daughter for whom climbing Everest was a labour of love, and again in March 2018 in its HER Story series, on her journey up the mountain at 16.

Climbing with her father
