Early Development and Transition
Born in 1966 in Guangzhou, Zeng received foundational training from her mother, a professional coach. By age eleven, she was attending an elite sports academy, and at twelve, she secured a national junior championship. She joined the Chinese national team at sixteen, gaining experience alongside contemporaries like Ni Xialian. After falling out of the national rotation, she relocated to Arica, Chile, in 1989 to work as a youth coach.

Zeng remained largely absent from competitive circuits for over a decade, briefly resuming in 2003 to encourage her son to play. After a second period of inactivity, she returned during the COVID-19 pandemic. She began competing in Iquique before qualifying for the 2023 South American Table Tennis Championships, where she secured gold in the team event and silvers in both singles and doubles.
Recent Achievements and Recognition
Her performance at the 2023 Pan American Games, where she earned a bronze medal in the team event alongside Daniela Ortega and Paulina Vega, brought her significant public attention in Chile. This success culminated in her selection for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Later that year, she was named to the BBC 100 Women list. She currently manages a furniture business in Iquique.
