Early Career and National Success
Born in 1980 in Chelyabinsk, Gamova began her journey through the Russian club system, playing for Avtodor-Metar starting in 1996. She quickly moved through the ranks of Uralochka-NTMK 2 and Uralochka-NTMK. Her impact on the national team was immediate, contributing to silver medal finishes at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics. She also secured a gold medal at the 1999 Junior World Championship.

Gamova moved to Dynamo Moscow in 2003, where she stayed until 2009, winning several Russian Super League titles. She transitioned to the Turkish league for the 2009–2010 season with Fenerbahçe Acıbadem, capturing the Turkish League Championship, the Turkish Cup, and the Turkish Super Cup. Returning to Russia, she joined Dinamo Kazan in 2010, leading the team to multiple Russian Super League titles and the 2014 FIVB Club World Championship title.
Retirement and Legacy
After a storied career that included winning back-to-back gold medals at the 2006 and 2010 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championships, Gamova announced her retirement in May 2016 due to injury. Throughout her time in the sport, she was frequently decorated, earning the title of Honoured Master of Sports of Russia. She received multiple government honors, including the Medal of the Order For Merit to the Fatherland, first and second class, for her contributions to physical culture.
