Early Education and Academic Foundation
Marzantowicz completed his undergraduate studies in mathematics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in 1972. He pursued advanced training at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he earned his doctorate in 1977. His doctoral research, conducted under the supervision of Kazimierz Gęba, focused on Lefschetz numbers of maps commuting with a group action. He later attained his habilitation at the same institution in 1991, centered on invariant topology methods in variational problems.

In 1993, he assumed the role of director at the Institute of Mathematics at the University of Gdańsk, serving until 1996. That same year, he joined the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Adam Mickiewicz University, where he leads the Department of Geometry and Topology. He was awarded the title of professor of mathematics in 2002. His administrative contributions extend to the Polish Mathematical Society, where he held the presidency from 2014 to 2019.
Professional Engagement and Scientific Contributions
Beyond his teaching duties, Marzantowicz has served on the Scientific Council of the Juliusz Schauder Center for Nonlinear Studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University since 1995, chairing the body from 2012 to 2018. His international work includes representing the Polish Mathematical Society in the Silk-Road cooperation program from 2016 to 2019 and serving on the Council of the European Mathematical Society between 2010 and 2020. He has also maintained a long-standing involvement with the Mathematics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
