Academic Foundation and Doctoral Research
Following his undergraduate studies, Dragović spent four years as an aspirant at Moscow State University within the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. He focused on higher geometry and topology between 1988 and 1992. His doctoral work, titled R-matrices and algebraic curves, was completed in 1992 at the University of Belgrade under the supervision of Boris Dubrovin.

Dragović held the position of Full Research Professor at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He founded the Dynamical Systems group and served as co-president of The Centre for Dynamical Systems, Geometry and Combinatorics at the Mathematical Institute. Since 1993, he has chaired the Seminar Mathematical Methods of Mechanics. His project leadership includes directing Project 1643 and Project 144014 for the Ministry for Science of Serbia, alongside a collaborative Italian-Serbian initiative regarding the topology and combinatorics of manifolds.
Contributions to Secondary and Higher Education
Between 1992 and 2007, Dragović worked as a special professor at the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade, where he later served as principal from 2004 to 2008. His pedagogical output includes books and problem collections designed for mathematics competitions and university entrance preparations. He has held teaching roles at the University of Nis, the University of Montenegro, and the University of Belgrade, where he advised seven graduate students.
International Engagements and Recognition
Dragović has held visiting positions at institutions including Kyoto University, the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, the University of Lisbon, and the Institute of Advanced Scientific Studies in Paris. He has delivered invited lectures in countries such as Russia, Brazil, Spain, and Poland. In 2004, he received the award of the Union of mathematical societies of Serbia and Montenegro for his scientific achievements.
