Professional Trajectory
Born in 1951 in Suyerka, Bogdanov pursued technical education at Tyumen Industrial University. After graduating in 1973, he began working in the oil industry in Tyumen Oblast. In 1984, he became the director general of Surgutneftegas. Following the company's privatization in 1993, he assumed the role of president, a position he has maintained throughout his career.

He served as a member of the Tyumen Oblast Duma and as a deputy of the Duma of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra. His political affiliations included supporting Sergey Sobyanin during the 2001 Tyumen Oblast governor election and backing Vladimir Putin during the 2004 Russian presidential election.

Bogdanov has received numerous national honors, including the State Prize of the Russian Federation in 2016, the Order 'For Merit to the Fatherland' in the 2nd class, and the title of Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation.
